Chronology of Shakespeare’s Plays
This was a book design project using the wiki page “Chronology of Shakespeare’s plays,” to explore grid and layout design. Through my love of literature I have read and studied Shakespeare's plays. I think it is interesting to understand the perspective of characterization, plot language and genre in tragic plays. Shakespeare used this idea to traverse the individual mind and created iconic characters.
I think of Shakespeare as a chess master, his innovative ideas have influenced the direction of western literature today. I tried to capture this symbolism of chess through the black and white squares in motion through the book from the cover to the chapter titles and beginning of each topic.
